Manchester Champion

This category is aimed at an outstanding individual who has volunteered in the local community or with a Manchester-based charity to help to create real improvements for the City of Manchester or its inhabitants. Please note that this will be awarded to an individual who has achieved these results outside of their professional life and not as part of their day-to-day role.

Applicants should provide evidence in respect of the following where they are applicable (noting that this acts as a guide and answers should not be limited by it):

Demonstrate commitment to improving the City of Manchester or lives of its inhabitants, either through association with a charity or through direct work with the community
Identify what activities or role you have undertaken and where and how you have ‘gone the extra mile’ to show your support
Demonstrate what the impact has been on the City, or its inhabitants, whether financial or social
Demonstrate on-going dialogue with a charity or the local community
Identify the ways in which your support has helped to raise the profile of a local charity, the City of Manchester or Greater Manchester as a region
Demonstrate the impact your volunteering or support has had on the charity or community
